Pazhassi Raja Smrithi Mandiram

Pazhassi Raja Smrithi Mandiram, located at Pazhassi, Mattannur in Kannur, is a museum dedicated to Pazhassi Raja at his ancestral place. Constructed in the model of Kuthambalam [traditional theatre mostly found in Hindu temples], this museum is built above a pond, which was once part of the palace complex of Pazhassi Raja. After his death in 1805, the Britishers demolished the entire palace complex and built the Thalassery-Mysore Highway.

The outerside of the museum wall has beautiful mural paintings depicting the life of Pazhassi Raja. Several letters and documents of communication with the Britishers are displayed inside the museum. A single stone statue of Pazhassi Raja is another notable attraction in the museum
